Cell-shading madness!!! Completely without reference so I probably made up his tattooes/costume/lighsaber/proportions in general. Had to crop it to make it fit, so go to my website *shameless plug* just to see the tips of the lightsabers (and a better resolution.) Anyway, One thing I did not make up was his cavities, although I have to admit they are actually more vividly yellow and black:

Also, I don't know why I keep at my pathetic attempts to produce things in technicolor cause this looks so much better uncut and unedited on the back of some random legal document:

Yep, think I'm finally getting the hang of this 'inking' thing.

More mass-production, low quality pictures.

It's my Chaotic Good rebel lvl12 rogue/lvl10 ranger/lvl10 shadowdancer Elf avatar in Neverwinter nights. I hope what he's doing is apparent (it was to my 11 year old brother). Background screenshot-referenced from a screencap of NWN 2, which has pretty graphics. I'll post a better resolutioned version of this pic on the site tommorrow.

In other news, my premonition about the whole lab partners thing being bad was completely correct. The @#$% ended up copying my essay and landing us both a big fat 0. Great teamwork, @#$% n00b. Since I don't think I could live with a person stupid enough to copy some sentences word-for-word, definitely having a word with the teacher about this. Anyway, the moral of the story is to always trust your instincts and not any @#$% people you're forced to work with. So there.

Woohoo, I'm on a roll! (Even though it's a really cheesy cell-shaded thing)

Other than that, washed out from only my 1st week at school, hopefully following will be better. Taking 3 AP's and yet the highest work load comes from Spanish class... new french teacher called Mr. Moineau. (noone can pronounce) Think I'm speaking in sentence fragments. Other than that, English language's real fun and like a writing workshop type of atmosphere. Bio stinks 'cause I have to be lab partners with someone...oh joy. That's it, I guess.

Oh yeah, the fortuitous turn of events is that there are few jarltreri stuff but most of them are in...SPANISH! YEY!

Wow, holidays are over...NOOOOOoooOOOOOOOO!!!! Ah well, at least I got this done!

I know there's the usual anatomy/physics/general laws of the world problem with it, but I'm happy with the overall look and the painterly feel and the (gagagasp!)background so it's all good :)

Anyway, some background on this pic:
I LOVE Salvatore's Sellswords series. Jarlaxle's "innocent" annoying attitude complements Entreri's "jaded" sulky angst/iwannakilleveryonewagagagagaugh character and their clashing perspectives (socialite optimist v.s. pessimist loner) make for witty/entertaining banter. They also have funny cartoony fight scenes that are so well choreographed you can just watch it in your head while you read the book (well, it works for me anyway). If you're wondering about the blue twig-like appendage floating grotesquely in Entreri's lap, it's -SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER- the "Flute of Idalia" or somesuch that makes Entreri less antisocial and things (it's scary). It's given to him by dragons in Wickless in the Nether, a jarltreri! drabble which I haven't read but really really want too!!!! Whyohwhy did Salvatore make it so obscure and in a collection of short stories thingie?!?!?!ENDSPOILERS Also can't wait for the conclusion, Road of the Patriarch, coming out in October.
Have I mentioned the AWESOME job Todd Lockwood has done to the covers? He even remedied his slit-eyed Jarlaxle on the old cover of the old Servant of the Shard and made a new one which has fancy symbolism and everything! Such an inspiration to improve!

Back to my humble offering, some close-ups on their mugs (cuz u can't see so well in this reduced version, once again go to me website to see the real deal:

By the way, the atmosphere for this pic goes to the soundtrack of "Don't Wait" by Dashboard Confessional (yeah, the emo band). I tried to keep a painterly style ala Treasure Planet, but didn't really manage to pull it off. Oh Well. Speaking of Treasure Planet, why didn't it do well? What's not to like about robots and pirates? It's an animated film about ROBOTS and PIRATES fer cryin' out loud! Even if that doesn't win you over, there's a neat soundtrack with badass guitar solos and jiggy/medievalgalactic tunes! Oh yeah, a 3D clownfish searching for his son while braving the perils of the sea is that much more appealing. C'mon, give it a try (get the DVD or something), it's one of the last 2D Disney gems!

Yay, it's easter! Easter has nothing to do with bunny rabbits, or chocolate eggs, it's the day that Jesus rose again! So go acquaint yourself with the new (and first) wavemachine album or something.

In other completely unrelated news, the first time I've put anything into my sketchbook for a long while or officially colored anything in traditional media (yet another portrait of Dintri?!?!)

There's just something horribly cracklike and addictive about the disturbingly rambunctious carrot top. (Heavily influenced here by Peter Pan, as if you couldn't tell.) Also intellectual property of none of the sort.

March 30th, 2006

Finally, the March holidays have come!! Feels like a nice torrential rain in the desert! Also giving me a chance to finish this horribly coloured/drawn/corny effects picture:

Yes, it's everyone's favorite smooth-talking, money-loving, sneaky and obnoxious mercernary leader, Jarlaxle. He's been calling Dinin his trusted friend ever since that raid involving the deaths of almost everyone in house Do'Urden. Needless, to say, there's something unsettling about that strange gleam in the bald drow's eye. Oh yeah, this is super compressed blah blah go see the bigger (and better) version in my gallery *shameless plug*.

While trying to get a realisitic background/lighting for this scene (it's the inside of a stalagmite!), it occurred to me why they'll never make a movie out of Homeland. Unless the whole movie's gonna be shot in infrared, all the audience is gonna see is a black screen with white text (subtitles for the drow). Sure doesn't seem marketable.

In other words, there's a offshoot from ff7 focusing mainly on Vincent and it's called Dirge of Cer-thingummy. Looks like a fun/funny first person shooter thingy. Plus it has Cid in it. Haha XD. Can't wait. Now if only they would get on with a sequel/offshoot/3d animation movie thingy of FF6...

Here's some snapshots of my cosy little dungeon rendered in Maya. Please suppress your laughter at the n00bness.

This one displays the point lights from the candelabra and stuff. Personally, I really like the texturing of the thing, but the computer freezes everytime I try to render with proper shadows.

A directional light from inside the dungeon cell. The POV is the prisoner's in this case. Since the modelling is horrible, I probably have to explain that thing in the near right corner as well as the bottom left. The thing leaning on the bars is a double-sided axe which will be shown in greater detail later and the object in the left is an overturned chair. (Though I have no idea why it's inside the cell)

Delicious bowl of fruit the fat greasy guard gets to eat while the prisoner looks on in envy. Yeah, I know bananas don't look like that.

As promised, here's the view of the axe. Yeah, it's not great, but at least it's strategically positioned leaning on the bars of the cell so the prisoner has some chance of escaping. You can't be a prisoner and a chooser.

Yup, now I've been there, and can safely say that 2D is still better :P.

Binny just can't seem to charm Leroux into buying him that expensive diamond ring they saw in the slums yesterday. Seems like he's gonna have to convince him old school.

Bhindorl intellectual (and artistic) property of none of the sort. Again, there's a better resolutionized? one in my gallery.

If only I could say this was random brain vomit. I know, I blurred out the hands with one of those censor-blur thingies, it is THAT bad. So bad it's not age appropiate. All that is determined now is that his name is Adinzar, and maybe even that will change eventually.

In other news, every single n00b person in the entire population of my school had to assemble on the field so they could get a helicopter to fly out of the air and take a picture of us making a human word. Good thing is, they already marked out little 3' by 3' squares of land to be our individual territories. Bad thing? Retards can't even stay in their own fricken square!!! How hard is it just to stay in a bloody square!! Even nursery children understand timeout!! Anyway, hissed and snarled and kicked at people who tried to put a foot in MY square (it's MINE, dammit!!) and was the only one in my homebase who didn't have to share one when the helicopter came. ha. fools.

I really REALLY wish that our school will stop spending our tuition fees on useless fancy things like their own licensed M&M's or a weight training gym and say, use it in a worthy cause like buying some of the students a brain (at least one not so caught up with image that they can't put on a school visor even if it's right there in their stinkin' hand and the sun in shining directly into their stinkin' eyes and they're loudly complaning how glaring it is).

Altruism personified.

Yup, none of the sort's characters again. Neo is Dintri's reluctant babysitter and this is no mean feat. Besides constantly battling against daisy-chains and fighting for his dignity, Neo is also obliged to slay bloodthirsty drow, greedy dragons, gruesome undead, and all that jazz. Frankly, Neo would rather slay bloodthirsty drow, greedy dragons and gruesome undead.

Fly away from here
Anywhere
Yeah I don't care

(We just) Fly-ee-aieey away from here
Our hopes and dreams
Are out there somewhere

That's the audio that accompanies this picture for hilarity. This is subcomciously influenced by Circus of the Sun's "Quidam", Dintri attempting to stand up on Neo's shoulders and all. Again, I am evil and created this blog layout in a way that requires constant resizing of larger images, and therefore to see this sketch in all it's sketchy glory go here

And I had someting else to say, but I accidentally deleted it and am too lazy to dredge it up from the murky depths of my fetid memory, something about infrequent updates or somesuch.

Binny and Leroux of none of the sort fame.

Leroux is a half-something and suspects himself to be somewhat of an incubus. Has the personality of a modern alternate rock drummer, but with an appetite. Bhindhorl is 100% drow, thankyou very much. Has the personality of a rock star, without the adoration of fans.

Their relationship may be summarised by the following lines:

You're making me fall down
I'm falling down again
I wish you could fall down

'Cause all I ever wanted's so far gone
And if I had my chance, I'd go along

Yes, I did it in my exercise book. Finally, I have mastered the art of drawing inconspicuously in class even when the teacher is staring directly at you (it helps if you know the answers to any potential questions he/she is liable to ask you). This is a seriously downsized version. To see this sketch in all it's lined exercisebook-paper glory, view my gallery at Dinin & Co. I'm not making Binny's shapely hips up, honest! Blame the creator.

Well, hope you like this usuratonkachi!!

Yeah right.

episodes 124 and 125 finally loaded yesterday and I finally got to see the RAW of kejimaru's suiken fist. Wachow! How do they do the fight scenes? The regular animators work at one cucumber sushi a day but they hire really expensive animators for the fight scenes or something? I mean, even the faces look better! Wierd.

Complete me prueba conatabilidad fuera una calculadora a hoy. Es c󭩣o porque estoy desesperado por terminaste la prueba punctual. Por eso, hago cᬣulos rapidamente y terminaste antes de los estudiantes en la clase. :> ?Qu?estupido!

Don't mind that silly drabble,I don't get enough language practice as it is. I can't speak it, but I can write it. How troublesome. Was digging around the net today and came across these web journal things that had "friends-only" restrictions on them. I don't get it, if you wrote something embarrasing or whatever in your "secret diary", wouldn't you rather have strangers see it than people you know? Especially people you're close to enough to give them the password to your "secret diary"? One of the most confusing paradoxes!!!

Speaking of paradoxes, check out this puzzle:

Suppose you get the following proposal from a weird billionaire: "Toxin X is a substance that will make you violently ill for a few hours. However, it has no long term effects of any kind. As an experiment in psychology, I'm offering you a million dollars if tonight at midnight you fully intend to drink toxin X by tomorrow at noon. You don't actually have to drink the toxin; all you have to do is to intend to drink it. Your intention will be tested by a device similar to a polygraph which my people have developed and which has been shown to be 100% accurate. If at midnight you have the intention, a million will be wired to your bank account. The only other conditions are that you are to make no bets, do anything that will cause you to become irrational, or arrange for any way to avoid the effects of the toxin."

Suppose you decide that being ill for one day is a reasonable price to pay for a million dollars. Your first thought is to therefore agree to the proposal. It then occurs to you that you won't even have to become sick in order to win the money. All you have to do is to intend to drink the toxin. You don't actually have to carry out your intention.

But now if you know ahead of time that you don't actually have to drink the toxin, then you can't really intend to drink it. So you tell yourself you really do have to drink it. But then if at midnight you really did intend to drink the toxin, and you got the million, then come the next day you would no longer have any reason to drink it: you've already been paid and drinking the toxin would make you unnecessarily sick.

Is there any way for you to win the money?

In other news, check dis out, yo.

♥ Lee and Gaara is browed and browless love! ♥

I really miss the organised way my old school used to allow us to sign up for CCA's and things like that. In my new school, they just say "Hey, you wanna join?" and if you say yes, they won't write it down or anything, or even tell you when to meet, what to do, or anything like that, expecting you to know all the details beforehand.

Anyway, the other thing that's really offsetting is that they have really ridiculous clubs like BBQ club, and "Animation Club", which is actually a haven for anime fans. Hopefully I'll manage to pull through this somehow. Rarrrrgh, I have to go to school in 6hrs and 55min
